‘Monocab’ the fastest growing segment in the UK

Monocab-type cars is the fastest growing automotive segment in the UK. Out of 1.1 million registrations in 2007, more than 94,250 were registered in the UK alone. As per the data published by Vauxhall, its Agila Meriva and Zafira models are the highest selling moncabs today. Since its launch in 2000, Vauxhall has sold 440,000 Agilas in the European market.

Agila’s newest version is far superior than its counterparts in design. It is small yet flexible, fuel-efficient, and an easily manoeuvrable car, specifically designed for use in cities. Its box-like shape also makes it highly space-efficient.

The rear doors of the new 5-door hatchback are wider at the top and fitted with quarterlights. Both ends of the car feature deeper and rounder bumpers, obviously mounted with the registration plate. Lights are shifted to a high level position from below the window-line.

Agila is available in seven different colours including Galaxy White, Blaze Red, three metallics and two pearlescents. The New Vauxhall Agila is very user-friendly. It accommodates five adults with plenty of headroom, due to the high roof.

The rear seats have a fold-flat function with 60:40 split, which increases the luggage capacity below the parcel shelf by 225 litres.

The boot is provided with hooks to hang shopping bags. The other storage facilities include door bins at the front, compartment for CDs atop the dashboard, and pockets on the front seat backs with oddments trays.

It is the best designed car for city-dwellers, particularly women, with easy access to children via the rear doors and a large space for plenty of storage.
