Almost 90 per cent of Daimler vehicles fulfil Euro5 emissions

Daimler’s BlueTec commercial vehicles are contributing to Europe’s drive for green environment in a big way. Almost 90 per cent of its commercial vehicles meet the stringent requirements of Euro5 emissions standard much ahead of its introduction.

Daimler has earned a name for its highly efficient BlueTec diesel technology. More than 160,000 BlueTec commercial vehicles ply on European roads along with Vario vans, Mercedes-Benz heavy trucks and Setra buses.

To note their contribution in terms of fuel and CO2 emissions, these vehicles have saved 400 million litres of diesel for the operators and prevented 100 million tonnes of CO2 from polluting the environment.

South East Asia is now set to embrace this environment friendly technology in a big way. BlueTec diesel technology has successfully complied with all the regulations of EU4 and EU5 standards for commercial vehicles. It benefits the users both ecologically and economically. It reduces 80% particulates and 60% nitrogen oxide in the exhaust gases, whereas it helps save 2 to 5% of diesel with the enhancement of engine efficiency.
