Aston Martin keeps number one spot as UK’s coolest brand with help from Bond
You probably won’t be surprised to know which brand took the number one spot this year on UK’s Cool Brands list. Yes, it was the Aston Martin Company. This is the third consecutive year that Aston Martin has secured the first place in the annual list of the most iconic brands and council chairman of Cool Brands, Stephen Cheliotis believes a lot of credit goes to James Bond.
The fictional spy has, from the very beginning, favoured the car which first appeared in the James Bond movie Goldfinger in 1964 and is making a return in the latest 007 flick Quantum of Solace. Mr Cheliotis believes that the “cool” status that Aston Martin is getting is hugely due to the excitement surrounding the release of the new Bond movie. Due to the success Bond films have received in the past, this car brand is closely associated with James Bond and with him being cool, stylish and smooth.
The spy happens to be one of the UK’s most legendary icons and the new 007 flick has seen Bond come back better than ever before. The other two luxury car brands that made it in the top twenty were Ferrari and Lamborghini.
