Aston Martin to premiere DBS Volante at Geneva Auto Salon
Aston Martin will showcase DBS Volante at Geneva Auto Salon on March 3, 2009. The new Volante offers combination of already-established DBS’s sports car characteristics with open-air motoring thrills.
DBS Volante will be an attraction for drivers who wish to experience excitement of driving sports car with feeling of openness to elements.
‘Volante’, which means ‘moving with light rapidity’, perfectly reflects on dynamic and performance potential of Aston Martin DBS Volante.
The motorised fabric roof when closed provides comfortably warm ambience and disappears behind tonneau cover when opened at the touch of a button. According to Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Ulrich Bez, DBS Volante provides most relaxed driving experience irrespective of hood being up or down. It is a combination of design perfection and engineering excellence, he claimed.
DBS Volante is powered by all alloy 6.0-litre 510 bhp, 570 Nm torque V12 engine, which gives top speed of 191 mph and imparts acceleration from 0 to 62 mph in 4.3 seconds.
Ideal for young people and extra luggage, DBS Volante has six-speed rear-mounted gearbox. It is offered with carbon ceramic brakes which render exceptional stopping power.
It will be built at global headquarters at Gaydon, Warwickshire and deliveries are expected to commence in 3rd quarter of 2009.
