BMW launches fully-armoured SUV
BMW has launched fully-armoured most advanced SUV, the new BMW X5 Security. The heads of states, captains of industry and VIPs would get ultimate extraordinary protection for going anywhere without fear of attacks.
The BMW X5 Security has been built with toughest standards of ballistic protection. The 5-seater comes with armoured passenger as well as luggage compartments, conforming to B4 world-class standards. 22mm-thick safety glazing is capable of withstanding .44 calibre Magnum pistol shots.
In comparison with retro-fitted security components of competitor SUVs, BMW X5 Security is made with special materials for tailor-made fit. Passenger compartment bears no weak points. Pillar transition segments and door joints, supposed to be well known weakness points for terrorists to exploit and are made fully bullet-proof.
Special safety tyres can be driven over pointed objects and in case of pressure loss offer mobility over 30 miles at speed up to 50mph. With the help of an intercom alarm, occupants can talk with attackers without opening windows or doors. The BMW X5 Security is fitted with side, rear and front view cameras, displaying full images on control panel.
Active steering lends better control and Adaptive Drive makes it roll-free through corners providing stability and high comfort.
BMW X5 Security’s 4.8-litre V8 engine develops 355hp and 475Nm torque. It takes just 7.5 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 62mph, while top speed is limited to 131mph.
