British legend, Sir Jimmy Savile, buys Volkswagen California
The British entertainment legend, Sir Jimmy Savile, bought new Volkswagen California which was delivered to him by Volkswagen Van Centre (West Yorkshire) before Christmas.
Sir Jimmy informed that he has had two other Volkswagen campers for many years, but the new California was all-dancing and all-singing dream vehicle for him. He said that being a wanderer he loved motor-homes and especially enjoying a sleep in them. He disclosed that sometimes, after getting back home and taking shower, he retires for sleep in his campervan outside.
California is the latest addition to long range of campervans based on Volkswagen Transporter. It is being produced by Volkswagen itself, ensuring highest quality and offering full 3 years’ warranty.
This versatile design campervan is a real go-anywhere multi-activity van. Its daily utility for going to work or making shopping trips or as a living space for sleeping, like Sir Jimmy, or touring holidays is the most unique feature.
With automated pop-up roof, 2 double beds, cooker, fridge and sink, outdoor table and chairs tucked away in doors and tailgate, campervan quickly turns into a real home away from home. It has an AC converter for brief use and onboard fresh water and waste tanks.
Sir Jimmy chose 5-cylinder, 2.5-litre TDI PD, 174 PS turbodiesel engine, with 4motion all-wheel Volkswagen drive system and an optional bike rack.
Sir Jimmy made his first trip in new Volkswagen California to the Lake District.
