Cadillac CTS on display at Royal Automobile Club

A new Cadillac CTS luxury saloon was lifted from Pall Mall street level to the height of Rotunda in the Royal Automobile Club with the help of hydraulic lifting ramps and electric winch for a privileged display from 20th to 29th October in the reception foyer of the club for celebrating centenary of Dewar Trophy win.

The car is being given rare privilege since the foyer area has been reserved only for club members to display vintage and classic cars. In the year 1908, 3 Cadillacs were dismantled, their 2,000 parts were shuffled and the cars were rebuilt to demonstrate high quality mechanical standardisation which was unheard of in Europe and the UK. 3 rebuilt cars completed 500 mile endurance run without fault around Brooklands circuit.

Director in charge Jonathan Nash at Cadillac UK, thanked the Motoring Committee of the Royal Automobile Club for allowing display of the latest model. He recalled that 1908 win of Dewar Trophy was remarkable moment in Cadillac’s history in Europe. On e hundred years on the brand was once again opening an important chapter with display of new generation of Cadillac CTS in the UK, said Nash.

Dewar Trophy presented by Sir Thomas Dewar to the Royal Automobile Club in 1904, was to promote technical improvements in the automotive sector.
