One third British workforce to lose jobs at Nissan

Nissan is set to cut 1,200 jobs at Sunderland factory, rendering almost 33% of workforce jobless as demand for cars took big slump in Europe due to recession. 800 permanent positions and 400 temporary contracts will no longer exist, bringing Japanese manufacturer’s strength of 3,800 factory staff down to 2,600.
