Chrysler to Extend Sirius Contract to 2017
Chrysler LLC has announced that it has extended its exclusive relationship with Sirius Satellite Radio through to 2017. Sirius has partnered with Chrysler to offer optional entertainment packages for all Chrysler vehicles since 2003. It has been taken up by nearly 70% of customers. Sirius also is part of the Chrysler MyGIG entertainment option which offers exciting features such as a 30GB hard drive, GPS navigation system with real time traffic information and a USB port that enables people to download and store pictures and music.
Sirius also offers Backseat TV for Chrysler minivans that allows rear seat passengers to watch Nickelodeon, Disney channel and cartoon network while traveling by car.
Along with Chrysler, Sirius offers entertainment solutions to Audi, Merecedes, BMW and other automotive makers.
Sirius currently is on the verge of a merger with rival company XM satellite Radio Inc., subject to ruling by the U.S. Department of Justice.
