Diebold custom designs security system for Peugeot’s UK subsidiary
Diebold, Incorporated, leaders in integrated security solutions, have designed Peugeot SA’s corporate solution to integrate security systems of new headquarters and Technical Training Centre of its subsidiary, Peugeot Citroen Automobiles UK Ltd. in Coventry, England.
The company was aiming towards migration of network operations from stand-alone security systems to a 24/7 security solution, to be monitored from headquarters’ control room and other strategic locations. GE had recommended Diebold to Peugeot as partner, to custom design the security system compatible with GE technology, which comprised core systems such as access control and video recording.
The original Coventry facility was not well equipped with stringent security measures. With the rising crime rates, protection of employees, property and assets was paramount. It was also essential for Peugeot to protect automobile design information, and details of new products. The new system fulfilled all the requirements. It included CCTV, gates and barriers, building intruder detection, blockers, access control, two-way intercom and fence detection technologies.
Diebold’s security system in compliance to Peugeot’s corporate standards provided a seamless integration into regional server system managed by French partner Thales. According to David Metcalfe, Manager Facilities and Safety, Peugeot Autombiles UK Ltd. Diebold was recommended by GE because of its expertise in custom-designed systems.
