Fiat 500 and Panda among top 10 best fuel economy cars
Two Fiat cars made it to the list of top 10 best fuel economy cars declared by the new Which? Complete Guide to Green Driving, establishing once again Fiat’s strong commitment to green environment.
The Which? Complete Guide conducts review of 100 most economical cars and provides practical guidelines on greener driving. It disclosed that one of the 3 cars that broke 60 miles per gallon barrier was Fiat Panda 1.3 Multijet which returned 60.1mpg.
Fiat 500 1.3 Multijet, the most sought-after car winning accolades form thousands of motorists for low running costs and stunning stylish looks, captured ninth place in the Guide’s list. Fiat 500 gives 56.5mpg.
All the cars are subjected to stringent standards and independent tests by the Which? analysts. According to editor of the Guide, Richard Headland, a greener car selection would attract low road tax, reduce carbon tyreprint and bring savings in every filling of car, thus creating win-win-situation.
Managing director Andrew Humberstone, Fiat Group Autmobiles UK, claimed that Fiat was well known for low emission and fuel economy of its cars. The Group was continuing work on improvement and it was excellent news to receive recognition from independent organisations like Which? for their efforts, Humberstone remarked.
