Ford Europe registers 8% rise in April sales

Ford Europe registered an impressive growth of 6.4% in ‘Euro 19’ countries over last year. It sold 129,500units in these countries. Aggregating sales in Turkey, Russia and European direct markets the net rise in sales is 8%, amounting to 161,140 units.

Focus was the top selling model and had been updated recently. 33,100 units were sold in Euro 19 market. Fiesta was the second most model with sale figures of 26,900 units. April turned out to be record setting month for Ford Europe’s commercial vehicles as well. 23,500 vehicles were sold in Euro 19 markets with Transit van line alone accounting to 15,600 units.

As per Ingvar Sviggum, vice-president marketing, sales and service, 14 out of 19 Euro markets grew in sales volume where as 16 out of 19 markets recorded increase in market share. He is pleased to note that sales in France and Germany were up by 27% and 25% respectively.

Adding feather in the cap was the performance in Spain. Ford is now the leader in this market for the first time after first four months of sales this year. Figures of rise in sales for Russia and Turkey rose by 17% and 7.8% respectively.  It is a stunning performance of Ford Europe in all the sectors.
