Ford of Europe to present new Ford Kuga at 2008 Paris Motor Show
Ford Europe is going to be previewing a style enhancement and improved powertrain for its new Ford Kuga, at the 2008 Paris Show. The Kuga range would be equipped with an exciting 200 PS, 2.5-litre Duratec Turbo petrol engine and Durashift 5-tronic automatic transmission as an option.
In addition, Kuga would be sold with personalisation options, combined with a new exterior body kit and 20-inch special alloy wheels.
The 200 PS 2.5-litre Duratec 5-cylinder Turbo petrol engine offers agile mobility and smooth power with a high torque over a wide range of speeds. It is based on the well-proven Ford 2.5-litre Duratec Turbo engine, which is available in Ford Mondeo and sporty Focus ST. It has been re-calibrated to meet the performance that customers have experienced in the compact All-Wheel-Drive crossover segment.
According to Gunnar Herrmann, C-Car Vehicle Line Director, the company has made Kuga the most dynamic crossover, offering extra performance, added power and fun in driving both on and off-road. The new Kuga will be available with the Haldex Gen 4 Intelligent AWD system, and 6-speed manual transmission. It delivers 200 PS (147 kW) at 6,000 rpm and torque peak of 320Nm. It is designed for a top speed of 208kph, fuel economy of 9.9lt/100km and CO2 output of 234g/km. The new Kuga is due to go on sale all over Europe from January 2009.
