Fourth plant for VW in China

Volkswagen is all guns in the one of the fastest booming economies of the world-China. Volkswagen has been leading the world’s second largest auto industry for quite a while. And it confirmed the same with the launch of its fourth Chinese auto plant. Set in eastern China, in Nanjing, the plant has an initial capacity of 60,000 vehicles and was bought from VW’s Italian rival Fiat. The move comes with the proposition to increase incrementally its capacities in line with market demand. Last year Volkswagen Group China delivered about 910,000 vehicles to the Chinese market.

The existing plant was modified the 6.9 million square foot plot to meet the company’s requirements. The plant used to produce the hot-selling Santana Vista model. The Company is said to have trained over 1200 Fiat employees. This year VW China plans on delivering one million cars to its discerning customers this year. This should an easy figure with the latest expansions and launches
