Jaguar XF records 4th top title win

The Jaguar XF bagged its 4th top title since it launched in March 2008. It was declared ‘Car of the Year’ in the ‘Best Executive Car’ category at Auto Express New Car Honours 2008. It was pitted against Mercedes CLS and E-Class, BMW-5 Series, Lexus GS and Audi A6.

Dan Strong, Editor of Auto Express, lauded the Jaguar XF as the most impressive car in design, drivability and price. He further explained that judges voted in favour of this car as it has made excellence its personal standard. The fact that it was developed and built in the UK by a highly skilled workforce also weighed heavily in its favour.

Geoff Cousins, who is the UK Managing Director of Jaguar, was thrilled to receive accolades from Auto Express, the UK’s largest selling auto magazine. He declared that 2008 was a fantastic year for Jaguar. Its sales in July 2008 were up by 29.2% against July 2007. It received orders for 7,000 XFs in the UK and nearly 22,000 worldwide.

The other widely circulated magazines which also declared XF ‘Car of the Year’ include What Car?, Sun Motoring and Top Gear which hailed it as ‘Limo of the Year’. It won ‘Design Award’ from Autocar and ‘Interior of the Year’ from CAR magazine.
