Jaguar XF wins two awards at 2008 Scottish Car of the Year Award
Jaguar XF was declared winner of two awards, ‘Best Diesel‘and ‘Best Luxury Car’ by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW), at the 2008 Scottish Car of the Year Award event. The ASMW president, Bill Caven, declared that new Jaguar XF was extremely impressive in many ways. Apart from strikingly different looks it had all Jaguar qualities of power, refinement and luxury.
He revealed that magnificent Jaguar XF had mesmerised the whole judging panel and deserved awards in both diesel and luxury categories. The UK Managing Director for Jaguar, Geoff Cousins, remarked that it was great honour to receive recognition in Scotland which was an important market for Jaguar. He informed that 8 of its Scottish dealers sold above 500 Jaguar XF so far out of UK’s total of 7,500 cars. Worldwide sales were 27,000 units amounting to 3.4 increase in September and 10.3% year-to-date.
Ian Callum, Scottish born Design Director of Jaguar who attended award function, stated that it was always an honour receiving ASMW’s recognition and felt proud of having led design team of the award winning Jaguar XF. These awards from ASMW brought XF’s tally of awards to 19 since its launch in Frankfurt last year.
