Kia exempts customers from payment of excised duty on new Sportage models

Kia Motors (UK) Limited has decided to pay vehicle excise duty on its new Sportage models, exempting customers from payment for the next 3 years. The offer is open to buyers of the new Sportage between September 10, 2008 to October 31, 2008. The cost of road tax during the specified period will be deducted, on a one-off basis, from the vehicle’s price at the time of purchase. The deduction will be based on tax rates announced in the March 2008 Budget of the UK Government. Any revision in future won’t be covered under this offer. The offer is restricted only to privately registered new Sportage, purchased from authorised Kia dealers.

According to Kia Motors (UK) Limited’s managing director Paul Philpott, customers’ final choice of a vehicle was influenced by a number of factors, including VED rate. Kia was giving an opportunity to its customers to choose what they wanted, without losing on size and space due to payment of high road tax.

The Sportage boasts 2.0 diesel and petrol versions in either 4WD or 2WD. All models are equipped with electronic brake force distribution and anti-lock brakes, electric windows, air conditioning, USB and AUX ports. All the models are also provided with full climate and cruise controls, wiper de-icer and door courtesy lamps. The CRDi TITAN 4WD and XE 2WD models include larger alloy wheels, electric tilt, stability programme, slide sunroof with privacy glass and heated front seats.

The build quality at Kia’s Zilina factory in Slovakia enabled Kia UK to give customers an unrivalled warranty of seven years, 100,000-mile bumper-to-bumper on the new Sportage.
