Kia Sportage voted ‘Value for Money Champion’
Kia Sportage registered a hat-trick by winning ‘Value for Money Champion’ award for third time in a row at Planet 4×4 2008.
The European built Kia Sportage underwent number of improvements after winning last year’s award. Its production was shifted from Seoul to Slovakian plant with many upgrades to lend it more touch of a European model. Upgrade included more comfortable seating, better suspension and beefier braking system.
The unique feature of Kia Sportage is its 7-year warranty which no other 4×4 in Europe has offered so far. This reflected on high standard of quality of Sportage, built at Zilina plant in Slovakia, Europe’s one of the most technically advanced, clean and green automotive manufacturing facilities.
The award sponsor Planet 4×4, judges each vehicle on rigorous criteria of on-road and off-road tests, taking into account practicality and value for money. According to editor, Allan Kidd, although the 4×4 market has been constantly changing, Sportage has succeeded in retaining Best Value award for Kia every year.
Managing director Paul Philpott, Kia Motors UK Ltd. was very pleased with recognition of Sportage for great value for consecutive third time. He claimed that Sportage underlined Kia’s faith in design and build of its products and has continued to be a success for the company in tough economic conditions.
