Levante Caterham super-cars sold out ahead of production
Launched in spring 2008 and scheduled for production, all of the Caterham-based Levante super-cars have been sold out.
Costing £115,000 plus, the Levante is Caterham’s most powerful production. RS Performance, based in Hertfordshire, is hand-building only 8 of the cars in close co-ordination with Caterham Cars.
The Levante is equipped with uniquely design supercharged 2.4 litre 500+bhp V8 engine of RS Performance, which is housed in modified lightweight Caterham SV chassis, with 1000bhp/tonne, almost double that of Buggati Veyron.
Levante is provided with sophisticated electronics devices including launch and traction controls, which enable drivers to extract most form the unique machine.
Caterham Cars imparts a two-day advance driving training to the all new owners of Caterham RS models before delivery of the car.
On the quick sell out of all 8 Levantes, Andy Noble, Caterham sales and marketing director, commented that it was not surprising since they had been creating and meeting people’s quest for the purest form of driving over the last 51 years. He claimed that Levante has taken Colin Chapman’s original design to a very high level to satisfy those looking for the ultimate driving experience.
Apart from the success of Caterham RS Levante, Caterham Cars had good sales this summer due to highly acclaimed Superlight R500 and additions to Academy race series.
