The British firm Liberty Electric Cars, which is planning to make world’s first zero emission car, would create 250 new jobs.
The Oxford-based firm will start manufacturing electric 4×4 cars at Cramlington, Northmberland during 2009. It is going to invest £30 million into the new venture and has begun negotiations with key suppliers in the region.

According to its Chief Executive, Barry Shrier, the Liberty Electric Range Rover car will take electric vehicle technology into manufacture of large luxury cars that people in cities, where environmental regulations are becoming more stringent, aspire to drive.
‘North-east England, is becoming a world leader in infrastructure development, clean energy and electric vehicle making, which is giving confidence that business will prosper in the region, said Barry Shrier.
