Maintenance cost for cars

Running a car in the northern part of Ireland is around £2,105. The cost has risen up in the last twelve months. Road tax and soaring fuel prices have lead to an increase in the cost of maintaining a car. The resale value of cars has also decreased.

People who are driving 4×4 are the worst hit by the rising prices. According to a spokesman in Northern Ireland motorists are flaring better than the UK counterparts. On a national average the diesel and petrol costs have lowered down by 11% and 12% respectively. But in Northern Ireland the insurance costs have remained the same and that is the main reason why the running costs are increasing.

There are ways of reducing some of the costs of running a car. For instance keeping your car behind garage steel doors at night can help. Even a wooden garage will reduce your insurance premium more than keeping your car on the road, but plastic and steel doors are more common. Still drivers have to shell out more money than last year. The increased costs of running the vehicles have affected everyone in the market.

Drivers who are driving the Land Rover Discovery experienced a stiff increase in the maintenance of this car. Incase of the petrol version costs have risen to £12941 from £10836 and incase of the diesel version costs have risen to £11256 from £9203.

Many families now have to spend £1000 extra per annum. Meanwhile there are some owners who cannot even afford to run their vehicles anymore but at the same time cannot even sell their vehicles as they will be facing huge losses.
