Mazda’s new chief to focus on corporate sales in Europe

Peter Allibon has been appointed as Fleet and Remarketing Director at Mazda Motors UK in place of James Hopkins who would take charge of European fleet department. Allibon has wealth of experience in fleet operations and business financing and has acquired deep knowledge of Mazda brand over the years. He is taking charge when Mazda’s most successful company car Mazda6 would be rolling into the UK showrooms with latest 2.2-litre diesel engine range.

UK Sales Director Mark Cameron, whom Allibon will report, commented that Peter’s strong links with Mazda’s dealer partners would serve well in expanding fleet sales and remarketing.

Mazda6 has put the brand on fleet map and continues to lead its presence in corporate sector. In January 2009, an expanded and revised 26-model Mazda6 would go on sale led by 2.2-litre diesel engine with choice of 125PS, 163PS and 185PS outputs.

According to Allibon Mazda6 would enhance Mazda’s presence in fleet sector.

Hopkins who was heading Mazda Motors Europe’s fleet operation team would now focus fully on European fleet sales following his appointment as Director, European Fleet Operations.

Mazda Motors Europe has plans to sell 10% of its total output to fleets, out of which 50% sales are in the UK where Mazda’s corporate focus has contributed in rise in volumes and market share.

According to Hopkins, after huge success in sales in European retail sector it is ripe time for developing other sales channels, particularly the corporate sector.
