Mercedes-Benz C 180 Kompressor BlueEFFICIENCY to be launched in the UK
Mercedes-Benz C-Class met with great success since launch in June 2007. It will now be quipped with first BlueEFFICIENCY engine for launch in the UK. The existing model would be replaced with Mercedes-Benz C 180 Kompressor BlueEFFICIENCY, with no hike in road price.
Mercedes-Benz has given BlueEFFICIENCY name to range of measures incorporated in minimising CO2 emissions and improving fuel economy. The Mercedes-Benz C 180 Kompressor BlueEFFICIENCY does this with weight saving, improved aerodynamics and energy management.
Its engine boasts 156 hp, 230 Nm torque. Fuel consumption has been improved by 11%, returning 44.8 mpg on combined cycle. The Mercedes-Benz C 180 Kompressor BlueEFFICIENCY model would benefit from fuel economy indicator and Shift Point indicator. These indicators create awareness among drivers about effects of their driving styles on fuel consumption.
CO2 emission has improved by impressive 19% and it now emits only 149g/km. This reduction in emission makes the Mercedes-Benz C 180 Kompressor BlueEFFICIENCY an attractive model for fleet managers since emission reduction shifts them from 21% company car tax band to 17% band, amounting to annual savings of £370.8 for 40% tax payer.
The model also brings savings for non-fleet motorists from CO2 reduction as it shifts from E band of road fund licence to C band, providing saving of £50.
Deliveries of Mercedes-Benz C 180 Kompressor BlueEFFICIENCY would commence from January 2009. It will be carrying 3 year unlimited mileage warranty and 30-year European package of breakdown assistance and anti corrosion.
