New Hot Hatches
I watched the latest episode of Top Gear on Sunday and saw Jeremy Clarkson test drive three super hot hatches, the Subaru Impreza Cosworth, the Ford Focus RS500 and the Volvo C30 Polestar.
Of the three cars you would have thought that the Subaru, with its history and Cosworth on board, would have been the one to beat but no. It was the Ford and Volvo that stole the show and left Clarkson more than satisfied.
The RS500 is a 350bhp limited edition version of the magnificent RS but all 500 production models have already been sold. However, it was the Volvo that impressed the most with its raw power and superb handling but unfortunately there is a very big downside. After watching the 4WD 405bhp C30 drive effortlessly around the track Jeremy announced that the car was merely a prototype, gutted!
The Volvo looked awesome and apparently handled amazingly well. With it’s 2.5 litre turbo engine Developing 510Nm and achieving 0-62mph in just 4.6 seconds it’s a shame that Volvo are putting it into production.
Let’s hope they change their mind.
