New X6 from BMW UK, in big demand
May 31 is going to be a big day for BMW UK. This is official on-sale date set by BMW for the sale of 1600 units of its new X6 ‘sports activity coupes.’ It is reported that out of 2300 units budgeted for the year’s total sales, 1600 units are already sold out before 31 May. Total sales comprise of 15 % petrol engine models and 85% diesel engine models. xDrive35i is the petrol engine model which has turbocharged unit of 306hp capacity.
It propels from zero to 62mph within 6.7 seconds. X6 xDrive30d and xDrive35d are the diesel models, for sales in 2008. When compared with BMW’s different models, this new X6 model is equipped with the most powerful engine ever manufactured so far. The unique feature of this engine, first of its kind in the world, is that its catalytic converter and twin- turbochargers are located in the cylinder ‘vee’.
Martin Sloan, X6 product manager is excited. He explains that BMW’s X5 SUV model was judged as the best handling 4×4 model. Now X6 model will be adjudged as the best model for style and performance. X6 ha dynamic handling system and will provide an edge over rivals such as Range Rover Sport and upcoming Infiniti FX.
