Opel’s Insignia to sport new logo on its debut

Opel is going to express new confidence through its logo in July this year. Insignia, its bold new car will be making debut with the emblem that will add a feather in Opel’s cap for its advanced technology and design innovation. Alain Visser, Chief Marketing Officer GM, Europe describe Insignia as symbol of Opel’s growing confidence and exciting direction. The brand emblem will be used for all future models of Opel.

The logo has sculpted design and gets three-dimensional depth due to the spherical surfaces. It is integrating Opel’s name into wider border.Mark Adams, Vice president of General Motors, Europe, was instrumental in redesigning the logo. He headed the team that combined beautifully-sculpted shapes with the fine touch of German precision. The logo is the expression of Opel’s design language and its philosophy of vehicles. According to him Insignia is a very important vehicle for the company.

Heinz H. Zettl, Manager Opel Heritage & Institutional Communications explains that Opel Blitz is the most familiar brand logos in Europe since 1963. According to him the logo was evolved from zeppelin. Opel vehicles used this radiator emblem beginning 1930s. It represented the symbol of progress at that time. In 1937 it was redesigned by adding a circle to symbolize mobility.
