Peugeot’s new crossover Peugeot 3008 revealed
Presented as a concept at Paris Motorshow last year, the new spacious and compact Peugeot 3008 crossover will be a totally new offering to the UK market and biggest attraction for modern families, senior citizens, sport-loving couples and young people.
The 3008 design is based on short wheelbase platform 2 which is well known for exceptional rigidity, excellent vibration absorption and acoustic properties. Peugeot 3008’s structure will provide maximum safety and rigidity of the level of a saloon. Weight of vehicle has been kept to minimum to minimise fuel consumption, running costs and CO2 emission.
Vehicle’s weight has been optimised by using laser welding instead of spot welding while front overhang has been reduced with innovative design of impact absorber.
Driving position of 3008 resembles that of an aircraft’s cockpit, designed with user in mind. Uncluttered fascia provides good view of outside.
High quality material used for interior creates high level of feel and visual quality. A series of toggle switches will be at the disposal of driver to control ‘Distance Alert’ and ‘Head Up Display’ system, both offering aeronautical feel to driving position.
Raised seating position, ample leg room for passengers helped by 1,690 mm long interior compartment and rear headroom of 876mm will make seating most comfortable.
Peugeot 3008 is fitted with most efficient air conditioning unit, variable speed cruise control, parking assistance, bi-xenon headlamps and full range of in-car telematics and entertainment controls.
