SEAT launches all-new Ibiza in the UK

The Ibiza five-door hatchback will be available in the UK market for sale this week. With this, the Spanish carmaker SEAT will be launching a new product offensive in the car market.
SEAT, a member of Volkswagen Automotive group has plans to double its range of models to 16 by 2012 and to achieve sales of 800,000 cars by 2015.

Ibiza UK sales will increase further after the introduction of Ibiza three-door SportCoupe in October and those of diesel Cupra and FR in 2009. Next week SEAT’s three-door Ibiza SportCoupe will make a world debut at the British International Motor Show being held at ExCel in London. The Ibiza three and five-door hatchback models are the best selling cars in the UK super-mini segment. SEAT sold 13,000 Ibiza models in the UK each year amidst competition from Vauxhall Corsa, Mazda 2, Skoda Fabia, Peugeot 207 and Renault Clio.

The new five-door Ibiza models are priced in the range of £8,995 to £11,295 with options of 1.2, 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol engine. Diesel engine models will be added in 2009. The three-door models, according to SEAT UK, will be the most popular model, accounting for sales over 60 per cent.
The new Ibiza is SEAT’s first designed car under expert direction of Luc Donckerwolke, who was formerly associated with Lamborghini.
