Skoda Auto’s sales take 20% jump in April
Skoda Auto’s sales are zooming. All the regions of its sales recorded substantial growth. It registered sales of 63,726 Skoda Vehicles in April. The increase is 23.3% compared to last year. Cumulative sales for the period January to Aril 2008 were 237,200 units amounting to increase of 17.7% Markets which top the list of fastest growing regions are Russia, India and China. Skoda Auto sold 14,231 vehicles in Russia (growth of 75.3%), 6,396 vehicles in India (growth of 50.4%) and 22,032 vehicles in China, where the sales just started this year.
Skoda Fabia Combi captured a respectable position in the world market in April this year. It registered 24.5% rise with sales of 9,623 units. Short Fabia recorded increase of 25.8% with sale of 123,267 vehicles.
Skoda Octavia stands as the best selling model of Skoda Auto. The jump in sales is 42.9% (25,475 vehicles) compared with the results of April last. Skoda Octavia Tour also registered an impressive growth of 16.3% (7,500 vehicles)
According to BOD member Fred Kappler, sales trends are positive and very much encouraging. He predicts phenomenal rise in the sales with the expected arrival of its new Superb model in the market very soon.
