Sweden leads the race for green environment

Saab, the largest flex-fuel car seller in Europe delivered the 100,000th flex-fuel ca Saab 9-3 BioPower, to the Swedish market. It has been a long journey for the flex-fuelled cars in Sweden. Saab waited for 7 years to sell f first 300 cars to Sweden.  The number increased to 50,000 in next 6 years. The last 15 months witnessed the record jump of 50,000 in the sales. Today, Saab Bio-Power has earned a leading position for Sweden in Europe in the race for CO2 emission reduction.

It is a booming market for E85 flex-fuelled cars. The key to phenomenal success is the joint strategy adopted by the central and local governments, car manufacturers, fuel producers and retailers.  The luckiest buyer of the 100,000th bio-ethanol car is Johan Bergstad, from Stockholm. He is a big admirer of the car, since he finds that it is not only environment friendly, it offers great relief to his wallet as well. As the pride owner of this environment friendly car, he gets reduction in taxes, has to pay no congestion charges and gets parking free of charge.

Anna Langenius, Manager for BioPower at Saab, considers this car as the best solution for reduction of CO2 in atmosphere. Saab has registered substantial growth in sales of BioPower models since the launch of first Saab 9-5 BioPower in 2005.
