The New Alfa Romeo hits roads
Alfa Romeo has unveiled major developments in its re-launch of the brand in global market. The main attraction at the event was the Alfa Romeo 159, Sportwagon and saloon versions.
It is designed with sporting and seductive looks and provides performance and road holding that will set new standards for this category of cars. Alfa Romeo is firmly placed in market D segment by two powerful engines, a 170 HP, 2.0 JTDM diesel and 200 HP, 1750 cc turbocharged petrol engine
All Alfa Romeos are equipped with superb engines packed with latest technology and rendering high performance. The Alfa Romeo 159 will be available with new 1750 cc turbocharged petrol engine conforming to Euro 5 standards, developing 200 HP at 4750 to 5500 rpm and 320 Nm torque at 1,400 rpm.
The new engine manufactured by Fiat Powertrain Technologies is equipped with 6 speed manual gearbox boasting direct fuel injection and advanced ignition control system, turbo charger, 2 variable valve timing units, and scavenging control system. Fuel consumption will be typical of 4 cylinder compact unit.
The Alfa Romeo 159 engine imparts top speed of 235 kmph and acceleration from 0 to 100 kmph in 7.7 seconds. It delivers sports performance of high standard and makes Alfa Romeo 159 a real driver’s car.
