The new Audi’s Parallel Park Assist system monitors parking spaces
The new Audi A3 Cabriolet cars use New Parallel Park Assist system, which makes use of ultrasonic sensors to locate suitable parking space; signals the driver via Driver Information System (DIS), and steers the vehicle automatically in that parking space in single manoeuvre. The system is available on all three models – Standard, Sport and S Line.
Standard specifications include air conditioning, alloy-wheels, powered windows and mirrors, semi-automatic hood operation and CD audio system. Sport and S Line models are provided with fully automatic wind deflector and acoustic hood.
The new Audi A3 Cabriolet Parallel Park Assist system uses ultrasonic sensors. The system monitors longitudinal parking space and alerts the driver via DIS if it detects a space large enough to reverse in to.
As soon as driver touches the accelerator pedal, after engaging reverse gear, the Park Assist system automatically steers car in to the parking space by taking over car’s electromechanical steering.
The driver has only to operate the accelerator, clutch and brake for ensuring safety. Chimes which increase in volume depending on proximity to other cars enable the driver to park the car perfectly in the space after completion of automatic steering input.
