The Sporty New MINIs At Geneva
The BMW brand MINI has a heart racing line up for this year’s Geneva Auto Show. Heavily inspired by the motor racing look, Mini launches The John Cooper Works and the John copper Works Clubman. These will be the first two models launched by MINI under the name John Cooper Works.
Both models will have a 1.6 liter 4- cylinder engine loaded with Twin Scroll turbo charger and petrol direct injection. The two door MINI and the three door MINI Clubman will sprint from 0 to 60 mph in 6.5 and 6.8 seconds respectively. The cars will be rated at 218 horsepower and will have a higher torque of 192 lb-ft between 1850 and 5600 rpm. The cars will be front wheel drives with a manual six-speed gear-box.
Not only does this make these models more powerful than the average MINI, they also have been remodeled extensively to make you believe that you are seated in a race car. With edgy new interior and exterior design, these two models differ from each other in their body especially from the A pillar backwards.
Both the models are fitted with what can be considered standard motor racing fittings such as light alloy rims, light and high-performance brakes, and a new exhaust system.
The cars will be available in the U.S. in August. The John cooper woks will cost $28,550 and the Clubman will be priced at $30,800.
