Vauxhall to throw open its Heritage Centre for the annual ‘Drive it Day’.
Vauxhall will be celebrating annual ‘Drive it Day’ of classic motoring on April 26th 2009. It will throw open doors of its Heritage Centre for family entertainment and allow classic car enthusiasts to offload unwanted autombilia and spares to like-minded folk.
The Centre will be open to general public with allotment of special parking area for those coming with old or classic vehicles. While the main attraction of the day will be Vauxhall’s own collection of 50 Griffin-badged classics from 1903 model to the iconic muscle cars including Monaro VXR and Lotus Carlton classic, access to special parking area will be open to any make or model.
In 2008, incredibly rare Guy bus, a Rover P6 Estoura estate, four Citroen GSs and a 1956 Chrysler Imperial had turned up on the annual day.
Classic cars and autojumblers are invited to throw up their pitch in the reserved area where classic enthusiasts will be able to search elusive spare parts for their cars.
‘Drive it Day’ is an initiative by the Federation of British Historic Vehicle Club, the body representing classic vehicle movement, to encourage owners of old classic cars, interesting vans, trucks or bikes to take to road on annual day and demonstrate strength of historic movement in the UK.
