Volkswagen announces entry-level specifications and two additional engines for Scirocco
Volkswagen has announced order booking through its retailers for the new entry-level specification and 2 engines for its Scirocco coupe. Costing £18,790 RRP onwards on road, it offers an opportunity to a wider customer base to become proud owner of the Scirocco. It is powered by 1.4-litre TSI 160 PS engine.
The new engines are now sold in base trim with standard equipment which includes 6-CD auto-changer, air conditioning, multifunction computer, rain and dusk sensor and 17-inch Donington alloy wheels. All the safety features such as ESP (Electronic Stabilisation Programme), ABS and six airbags are provided as standard.
The Scirocco engine accelerates from zero to 62 mph within 8.0 seconds, returns 42.8 mpg (combined) and emits 154 g/km of CO2. Additionally the GT and entry-level models are offered with popular Volkswagen 2.0-litre TDI 140 PS common rail diesel engine with six-speed manual or automatic DSG gearbox. Both the manual and DGS versions accelerate to 62 mph within 9.3 seconds with combined figure of 55.4 mpg and 51.4 mpg and CO2 emission of 134g/km and 145 g/km respectively.
All the models are equipped with Adaptive Chassis Control (ACC) alters car’s suspension and throttle response set-up using electrically adjustable dampers and enables the driver to select appropriate setting for driving.
