Volkswagen Keeps It Simple

Volkswagen has decided to do away with the Passat part of the car called Passat CC, and has now called it quite simply-Volkswagen CC. The car was initially called the Passat CC because the vehicle was based on the same Passat platform; although it is 5 cm or so lower than its former namesake.

The newly labeled Volkswagen CC is scheduled to hit U.S. markets in fall this year. This four-door-coupe, will feature a starting 2.0 TSI unit that will rev up to 197 horsepower and a higher 3.6 FSI V6 that will give 276 hp. Both these engines will be teamed with a 6-speed Triptronic transmission. The 3.6 FSI V6 engine will be issued with an all wheel drive as a standard feature. Another interesting attribute, which will be provided as an optional one, will be a “Park Assist” which will make the Volkswagen CC, the only Volkswagen that will park itself.

The car is expected to fetch Volkswagen roughly just under $27,000 a piece.
